Safegrid and Herrfors Nät-Verkko have signed a Letter of Intent to implement Safegrid’s Intelligent Grid System® to Herrfors distribution network in its entirety.
Safegrid delivered its first pilot project to Herrfors during 2023 for a grid monitoring and fault locating solution. After a successful pilot period, the companies have agreed to implement the Safegrid IGS® system to the whole Herrfors’s distribution grid.
The first expansion into a new grid area has been already delivered, and the established agreement forms the cornerstone for a long-term partnership between Safegrid and Herrfors in the years to come. The Letter of Intent includes an implementation plan for over 100 Safegrid sensors.
Herrfors has a long history and it dates back to 1907 when one of the first electric generators in Finland was installed in Herrforsinkoski in the Pohjanmaa region. Now, more than hundred years later many things have changed, but Herrfors still aims to be an agile, friendly and reliable electricity distributor for its customers.
Safegrid is the provider of the Intelligent Grid System® which helps utilities to locate, predict, and prevent grid faults and improve grid performance with instant-on wireless sensors and cloud-based monitoring and analytics. Safegrid is based in Espoo, Finland.
