VSV (a utility in Southwestern Finland) has selected Safegrid’s Intelligent Grid System™ to improve its grid and service quality.
VSV operates nearly 4,000 km of grid in challenging conditions around Uusikaupunki, Laitila, and Rauma (as well as seven other municipalities) in Southwestern Finland. A significant part of VSV’s grid consists of overhead cables located in the coastal archipelago with its notoriously difficult wind and snow conditions. VSV pays special attention to the high quality and reliability of its grid which it calls the “Weather-Resilient Grid”.
Safegrid’s Intelligent Grid System (IGS) helps VSV achieve 100% visibility into their grid and provides real-time alerts with exact location information to enable faster repairs to minimize service interruptions and downtime.
The system delivered to VSV initially consists of Grayfox™ and, later on, Grayhawk™ sensors for monitoring the network, and the cloud-based Gridguardian™ monitoring backend for instant visibility and alerts from a web client and a mobile application. The sensors will be installed at secondary substations and pole-mounted transformers and can monitor both cable and overhead line networks.
