Intelligent Grid System helps Leppäkosken Sähkö locate and react to faults in its distribution grids more effectively than before. The real-time alerts and precise fault location information enable faster repairs, which minimize customer blackouts when faults occur.
Leppäkosken Sähkö uses Safegrid’s GrayFox™ sensor units to monitor in its medium voltage cable network. The GrayFox™ system communicates wirelessly with Safegrid’s cloud-based GridGuardian™ monitoring and analytics back-end.
“In the future, the system will also provide other information about the network. It will enable, for instance, preventative maintenance of network assets, which will decrease the number of faults, lengthen the service life of the assets, and lower operating costs,” says Mr. Jukka Rajala, Operations Manager for Leppäkosken Sähkö.
