TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd. (TPCODL) is an electricity company that distributes power to around 2.7 million consumers across a vast area of 30,000 square kilometres in Central Odisha, India. TPCODL deployed Safegrid’s Intelligent Grid System to transform fault detection across its 33 kV and 11 kV feeders moving from manual, reactive operations to proactive grid monitoring. This project marked a significant leap beyond conventional Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs), introducing a data-driven approach to fault detection, location, and network reliability.

Traditional fault detection methods rely on directional indicators and extensive manual patrolling, leading to long restoration times, higher outages, and increased operational costs.

- Pinpoints the exact fault location (within ~100 meters) using GIS coordinates
